“Birdman” joins The Sports Insiders Every Thursday for “A Bird’s Eye View” presented by Mattress King and Factory Car Outlet
DENVER - Denver Nuggets big man Chris “Birdman” Andersen will debut his new weekly radio show, “A Bird’s Eye View” next Thursday, Dec. 10 at 8 a.m. with “The Sports Insiders,” Vic Lombardi and Gary Miller, on ESPN Radio 1600.
“Birdman” will appear each week with The Sports Insiders, presented by Mattress King and Dealin’ Doug’s Factory Car Outlet. A fan favorite and supreme shot blocker, Andersen will bring his unique style and sense of humor to the ESPN Radio 1600 airwaves on a regular basis for the first time.
Andersen joins an outstanding lineup that has already made “The Sports Insiders” the go-to destination to deliver Denver-area sports fans the top names in sports. Each week the station brings insight from the brightest of stars, including John Elway on Mondays, Ed McCaffrey on Tuesdays, Mark Schlereth on Wednesdays and Rod Smith on Fridays.
Andersen, 31, has become one of Colorado’s most beloved professional athletes, and is a tremendous inspiration to many for the success he has enjoyed since returning to the Nuggets at the beginning of the 2008-09 season. After blocking a career-high 175 shots last season, he has already blocked 33 shots in the first 19 games this season, and possesses the NBA’s third-best figure for blocks-per-48-minutes of playing time, at 4.01.
